The first 2/3 of the book started out nicely. Lots of different things going on--new things to learn. Towards the last 1/3, though, the story just got boring. It seemed to focus more on waiting, waiting to go to battle, and going to battle. Even the ending was not something spectacular. The love story itself is also not very exciting. Actually, the only reason I knew that the characters truly loved each other is because I was told a few times, and because I knew they were suppose to be from reading the premise. Other than that, I didn't feel that there was really any chemistry between them. Overall, I did enjoy the story, but I'm hoping the other novels by this author are a little better.
