I think the thing that keeps me from giving most of the Judith McNaught books I've read 5 stars instead of 4 is the unneeded strife between the couples. I can understand that there needs to be some sort of excitement between the characters, but it gets frustrating that all of her books follow the same formula of miscommunication. I don't necessarily need something fresh to read her. Just something different--I hate strife only caused by miscommunication. But since I can still give these books 4 stars, despite the fact that I cringe around the same exact page in every one, just goes to show how gifted the author is.
